Alejandro Curiel - Former Medical Director at Monroe County Hospital
A family medicine practitioner with more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Alejandro Curiel obtained his MD from Kansas University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Smoky Hill Family Practice. After obtaining board certification in family medicine, Dr. Alejandro Curiel began his career at New Frontiers Health Services. He spent two years with the health services provider before joining Monroe County Hospital in Albia, Iowa.
Dr. Curiel served for 14 years at Monroe County Hospital. During his tenure, he provided care to patients in various settings, including outpatient, emergency, nursing homes, and hospices. As medical director of Monroe Care Center and Care Initiatives Hospice, he routinely assisted in the ER department when necessary.
An American Academy of Family Physicians member, Dr. Curiel also has experience completing minor procedures, such as joint injections and laceration repair, EGD, and colonoscopies. He enjoys watching sports in his free time and is a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) and Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL).
